OneSteel trainees support some of our most crucial business functions whilst developing their skills. Because you learn on the job, you're exposed to real business challenges, have real customers and work collaboratively as part of a team.

Our Program

As a trainee you'll qualify for a business or related TAFE qualification through work you do on the job. In some cases, you won't even need to go to class! As you with with us, you're assessed against competencies required for the qualification by your Manager and an external Traineeships Coordinator.

OneSteel trainees are employer in a relevant full-time job and obtain their qualification fee-free. When you finish, there's the opportunity to negotiate going on to further study - perhaps at university - and you'll continue with us as a OneSteel employee in a real and meaningful job.

Traineeships are available as required across our business, in disciplines as diverse as Business Administration, Transport & Logistics, Frontline Management, Customer Service & more. Click on the link to view a Trainee Profile.

Are you the right fit?

We're looking for school-leavers or mature applicants with good high school results and an interest in establishing their professional career with OneSteel.

In our trainees we're looking for a genuine desire to learn on-the-job, an interest in the area they are applying to, problem-solving ability, clear communication skills, a professional demeanour and a customer service approach.
