Wide Range of Colours

The most popular Colorbond® colours that Tubecolor® is available in are (old Colorbond® name/new Colorbond® name) Smooth Cream/Classic Cream^TM, Off White/Surfmist®, Merino/Paperbark^TM and Sandbank^TM/ Sandbank^TM.

However, OneSteel Manufacturing’s state of the art facilities in Kwinana WA are able to powder coat any Colorbond® colour.

Customised Lengths

Tubecolor® powder coated galvanised steel tube can be rolled in any incremental length between 4000mm and 8000mm for sizes up to and including 90x38x2.0.

This potentially reduces any wastage costs that may be associated with cutting standard 6100mm, 7315mm and 8000mm lengths.

Flexible Pack Sizes

Tubecolor® powder coated galvanised steel tube is available in a number of flexible mill pack sizes. This may reduce any wastage costs that are associated with stocking more than is required for a particular Colorbond® colour.

The number of lengths per pack varies for Maxi Packs and Lite Packs:

Consistent Properties

Tubecolor® has consistent mechanical properties and chemical composition allowing you to design your next patio, carport, outdoor furniture and / or play equipment with confidence.

Sizes up to and including 90x38x2.0 have a minimal yield and tensile strength of 300MPa and 350MPa respectively. Sizes above 90x38x2.0 have a minimal yield and tensile strength of 450MPa and 500MPa respectively.

Good Corrosion Resistance

The galvanised steel strip which is used to manufacture Tubecolor® complies with Australian Standard 1397, steel grade G2, or equivalent, which provides a coating mass of 275 grams per square metre, as the total amount for both sides.

High quality polyester coatings adhere better to the tube surface due to a 6-stage zinc phosphate pre-treatment process. Then, at least 60 microns of powder is applied in accordance with the requirements of AS/NZS 4506:2005 service condition categories 4 (tropical – exterior) and 5 (severe – exterior). Finally, Tubecolor® is oven baked using the highest standard of modern automated facilities.

All of these factors enhance Tubecolor®’s corrosion resistance hence the reason why it is warranted against perforation, peeling and flaking to the steel underneath.

Consistent Quality

A number of quality assurance tests are prescribed by OneSteel Manufacturing’s exclusive Technical Specification - BTM® TS50 Powder Coated ERW Steel Tubing (Tubecolor®).

These include mechanical, dimensional and adhesion tests.

Less Handling

OneSteel Manufacturing’s facilities at Kwinana WA are vertically integrated. That is, the steel mill, 6-stage pre-treatment process, thermoset oven, packaging and transport facilities are all based at the one (1) location.

By reducing the number of service providers within the supply chain, OneSteel Manufacturing also reduces the number of times that Tubecolor® is handled thus making it less susceptible to damage.
